Conference Centre re-imagined as a Wedding Reception Hall
This ad is running on the website of Victoria’s Monday Magazine.
Here’s the pitch:
Make your big day unique in one of the most contemporary wedding and reception locations on Vancouver Island!
Celebrate the first day of your new life together in the new Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo. A modern, award-winning design with stylish accents sets a stunning backdrop with hand-blown glass pendant lighting, dramatic wall murals and grand floor-to-ceiling windows.
Let us take care of every last detail – from exquisite West Coast catering to elegant décor – for up to 1,300 guests. Our professional wedding planners are experts at infusing special touches into your celebration while staying within your budget.
A few dates are still available for a 2010 contemporary wedding!
I’ve been hoping we would re-appraise the conference centre but this isn’t quite what I had in mind. Perhaps more along the lines of a downtown VIU campus or a “Centre of Excellence” offering top level seminars of interest to the business and scientific communities.

With only a few dates still available I take it the rest of the time is booked by conferences? C’mon folks sign up quick and you to can be a part of keeping taxpayer debt down.
Good thing we built it.
Nice to see that the staff or promotional staff at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre is thinking outside the box and doing promotions other than in Nanaimo.
There are a few gentlemen that reside at this blog that might have the time to put together some seminars of interest at the VICC. Put together a business seminar or a scientific seminar. Show you to the world. But, make it so that us working souls (I don’t have much money) may also attend.
